Tara Reid, Joss Stone coming to 2007 MMVAs

by W. Andrew Powell

Every year it’s one of the biggest parties in the country, fans fill the streets, and some of the biggest celebrities descend on the corner of Queen & John to perform, entertain, and schmooze it up. The event is the MuchMusic Video Awards, and whether you’re in Toronto or watching on TV, it’s going to be a huge show – especially with one of the huge international stars performing on top of the MuchMusic headquarters.

Performers for this year’s show are: Avril Lavigne, Fergie, Billy Talent, Hilary Duff, Alexisonfire, Maroon 5, Belly, The Used, and Finger Eleven. In addition, Much has announced that the award presenters will include: Nickelback, Jay Manuel, Tara Reid, Joss Stone, Sum 41, Amber Tamblyn, Hedley, Chris Bosh, Sean Avery, George, Sam Roberts, Emilie de Ravin, Marianas, Trench, and Kardinall Offishall.

Airing live on MuchMusic on Sunday, June 17th at 9:00 PM (ET), with the red carpet event starting at 7:30 PM (ET), the MMVAs are always packed with celebrities, and music industry hot shots. While the fans party around the performance stages, VIP guests and the media schmooze and booze the night away inside the Much headquarters.

On the award side of things, Billy Talent and Nickelback topped this year’s list of nominees with five nominations each, followed by Belly and k-os with four nominations each.
