Last night Awkwafina, Shawn Mendes, Kris Wu, Derek Hough, and dozens of performers and stars took over 299 Queen for the iHeartRadio MuchMusic Video Awards, and for the 16th year I was in the press room, and on the red carpet for interviews.

Whether you watch for the stars, the music, or the shenanigans, the 2013 MuchMusic Video Awards brought all three together on Sunday night as Psy co-hosted the event and performed his hits “Gangnam Style” and “Gentleman” to the packed crowd at the corner of Queen and John.
Welcome to my live blog of the 2013 MuchMusic Video Awards. Right now it’s 6:00 PM, and we’re still a solid three hours out from the actual start of the event, but I figured the early-bird gets the worm, so I at least have a good seat for the press room, where all the artists will be coming through for Q&As.
A few hours from now, Psy and a whole red carpet worth of celebrities will descend on the corner of Queen and John for what will be my eleventh year at the MuchMusic Video Awards.
This Sunday, June 16, MuchMusic delivers one of Canada’s biggest events as the MuchMusic Video Awards draw in hundreds of fans and celebrities to the iconic corner of Queen and John. This year, presenters, nominees, and performers at the event include Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato, Ed Sheeran, Phillip Phillips, Armin van Buuren, Lucy Hale, Avril Lavigne, Serena Ryder, Brittany Snow, Kunal Nayyar, Naya Rivera, Austin Mahone, and, of course, co-host and international star, Psy.

Queen Street West in Toronto was loud and crowded last night thanks to the thousands of fans who showed up at MuchMusic’s headquarters for the 2012 MuchMusic Video Awards, where pop stars LMFAO co-hosted the big night.
Marianas Trench showed up all the other acts at the MuchMusic Video Awards red carpet with another memorable arrival that had them “riding” in on their trusty steeds.
