Sitting in a downtown Toronto hotel’s health club, dressed in a casual blue top, jeans and flip flops, Christopher Heard looks every bit as comfortable in this surroundings as he would in his own house. This should come as no surprise, as he has recently spent 2 years living in The Royal York hotel as a “Writer in Residence” while completing his latest book The Suite Life – The Magic and Mystery of Hotel Living.
Arriving this week on Blu-ray and on DVD: James McAvoy is the young and dashing Charles Xavier trying to save the world from evil mutants in X-Men First Class; Saoirse Ronan stars as a 16-year-old reclusive killer in Hanna; and a look at Brian DePalma’s notorious Scarface on Blu-ray.
In partnership with Universal Studios Home Entertainment, The GATE is pleased to offer fans a chance to win one of five Blu-ray copies of acclaimed director Brian De Palma’s influential gangster epic, Scarface, starring Al Pacino and Michelle Pfeiffer.

This might be one of the most interesting weeks for DVD releases that I have seen in months, and while not all of the movies are the best ever, there is one gem, and a few fun films. The best of the week is none other than Francis Ford Coppola‘s legendary Godfather collection, which has been fully restored. Less legendary, but very notable for a lot of fans is the release of Sex and the City: The Movie, and the comedies Run, Fatboy, Run, and Leatherheads.
Barely a month has passed since Judd Apatow‘s disaster Drillbit Taylor bombed in theatres, and already the busy producer has a new comedy ready to bring in the crowds. Forgetting Sarah Marshall will almost certainly be the big film of the weekend, but other hopefuls arriving this week include 88 Minutes, starring Al Pacino; Hong Kong action film, The Forbidden Kingdom; and the drama Emotional Arithmetic.
