Charming and respectable, but more than a tad cliched, director Bobby Farrelly’s basketball dramedy Champions coasts along nicely thanks to its air of general likability and some well drawn characters.
Ernie Hudson
From The Goonies, to Ghostbusters, and The Lost Boys, the 80s had a language for film that felt like the air was a little electric, anything was possible, and you were part of the gang. It’s a mood that’s been often imitated, and rarely done well, but Ghostbusters: Afterlife captures that spirit perfectly.
Ernie Hudson is an icon, and one of the most compassionate people I’ve ever interviewed. He’s smart and funny, and most of all, just an all around nice guy. Ahead of his appearance at Toronto ComiCon this weekend, I had the chance to speak to Hudson for half-an-hour about his incredible career, including standout films like Ghostbusters and The Crow, on top of his television career.
