New releases this week on Blu-ray and DVD include: the steamy Tamara Drewe, starring Gemma Arterton as a journalist looking to say goodbye to her home town; Middle Men, with Luke Wilson as a problem solver trying to make a fortune off of the early days of Internet pornography; the light drama, The Romantics, with Katie Holmes and Anna Paquin; plus a look at the comedies You Again, and Life As We Know It.

New this week on DVD and Blu-ray, Ricky Gervais stars in the comedy The Invention Of Lying, Jim Sturgess plays a double-agent in the drama 50 Dead Men Walking, plus a look at Gamer, starring Gerard Butler, and Whiteout with Kate Beckinsale.
New home releases this week include The Reader, starring Kate Winslet in her Oscar-winning role as Hanna Schmitz; Frank Miller‘s super-stylized comic book adaptation, The Spirit; The Deal, featuring William Macy and Meg Ryan; and Thirteenth Floor on Blu-ray.
The year draws to a close, but not before the last, big studio films of the year duke it out for some box office cheer. Marking what I would call the busiest release point of the year, there are no less than seven major films in theatres vying for your attention, including The Spirit, The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, Bedtime Stories, and Valkyrie.
