Toronto’s iconic Fairmont Royal York hotel celebrates its 90th anniversary this summer, and in honour of the special occasion, the hotel is preparing to unveil a number of changes, from the lobby experience to the guest suites, and the food.
A new hotel opened a few months ago in the middle of the increasingly competitive hotel landscape of Toronto, and given the fact that there is such competition now each new property, if they are to flourish, must offer guests an experience that is unique both in substance and in atmosphere. The new Shangri-La Hotel Toronto is the new jewel in Toronto’s hotel crown, and when it comes to substance and atmosphere you will be hard pressed to find either in greater evidence anywhere else in town.
For one big week, the most famous couple in the world–Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, and Katherine, Duchess of Cambridge–toured across Canada, and while they were here they stayed in some of the country’s best hotels. If you’re a traveller, or someone who just wants to follow in the steps of the Royal couple, that means you can hardly get better hotel recommendations this summer.
This might be skipping ahead a little, since I’ve been thinking about telling you all the story of how I got engaged, but my mind has been consumed as of late by the search for a wedding venue.
