Shad, Arcade Fire, Neil Young, and Johnny Reid were just some of the winners named this evening as the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences honoured the first 32 winners for this year’s Juno Awards.

On Tuesday, February 1, Canadaian musicians were in the spotlight once again as the list of nominees were revealed for the 2011 Juno Awards, which will celebrate their 40th anniversary by bringing the festivities back to Toronto for the first time in eleven years.
Canada’s biggest artists rocked the Rock (that would be Newfoundland, for the record) as the 2010 Juno Awards telecast brought the music to the fans in St. John’s Mile One stadium.
The Arkells kicked off the 2010 Juno Gala Dinner and Awards earlier tonight where most of the statues were handed out prior to the live telecast that will air tomorrow night. The band were also one of the winners during the evening, walking away with the Juno for best new group.
Nominees for the 2010 Juno Awards were announced this week and not surprisingly Michael Bublé led the way with a total of six nominations for his album Crazy Love.
