New releases this week on Blu-ray and DVD include: the steamy Tamara Drewe, starring Gemma Arterton as a journalist looking to say goodbye to her home town; Middle Men, with Luke Wilson as a problem solver trying to make a fortune off of the early days of Internet pornography; the light drama, The Romantics, with Katie Holmes and Anna Paquin; plus a look at the comedies You Again, and Life As We Know It.
This is apparently a bad week to be a movie fan, or a movie critic for that matter. New films opening this weekend include three big duds, including: the underwater thriller, Sanctum; the college thriller, The Roommate, starring Leighton Meester and Minka Kelly; and the psychological drama, Frankie and Alice, starring Halle Berry.

New this week on DVD and Blu-ray: Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman and Helen Mirren kick butt in the action-comedy, Red; Diane Lane stars in the horse-racing drama, Secretariat; plus a look at Saw: The Final Chapter, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets’ Nest.
New this week at a theatre near you: Jim Sturgess, Colin Farrell and Ed Harris star in the survival drama, The Way Back; The Company Men has Ben Affleck, Tommy Lee Jones, and Kevin Costner as three men who face life after downsizing; and in No Strings Attached, two friends try to add some spice to their friendship, without any of the commitments.
New DVD and Blu-ray arriving this week on store shelves include: Buried, starring Ryan Reynolds as a man trying to survive being buried alive; the prequel Death Race 2, starring Luke Goss and Tanit Phoenix; plus a look at Takers, Sugar Sammy Live in Concert, and season one of Dan for Mayor.
This is another dismal winter weekend for movie buffs as only two new films open up in theatres. Opening this week, Seth Rogen and Jay Chou star in the action-comedy, The Green Hornet; plus Vince Vaughn and Kevin James try to laugh it up in the weak Ron Howard comedy, The Dilemma.
This week’s new arrivals on DVD and Blu-ray include David Fincher’s The Social Network, an offline drama about the makings of an online giant; the horror-comedy Piranha, starring Elisabeth Shue, Jerry O’Connell, and Adam Scott; and the animated comedy Alpha And Omega.
