Catching up with the latest new releases this month, Oscar-nominated and Oscar-winning titles are the biggest arrivals for new release Tuesdays on both January 14 and 21. Topping the list of new releases is the Oscar-nominated Captain Phillips, and Oscar-winners In the Heat of the Night and Sunrise. Other new releases include Machete Kills, Carrie, and You’re Next.

Happy New Year, movie fans. Ringing in the new year are a hand full of new movies which debut on DVD and Blu-ray this week. This week’s big releases include: Robert Rodriguez’s grindhouse extravaganza, Machete, starring Danny Trejo; Steve Carell and Paul Rudd star in the comedy, Dinner For Schmucks; and a look at Jay Roach’s horror film, The Last Exorcism.
Thank you, Ethan Maniquis and Robert Rodriguez. After months of lead-up I finally got to see Machete last night and it was definitely kick-ass.
Opening in theatres this weekend, Quentin Tarantino‘s doubiously spelled Inglourious Basterds debuts alongside the political satire of In The Loop, and the far out family comedy, Shorts.
New on store shelves, Bruce Banner gets green with rage in The Incredible Hulk, the iconic Sin City comes to Blu-ray, Ben Stein gets opinionated in Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed, there is Guy Maddin‘s all-Canadian film My Winnipeg, plus lots more.
