Walker Scobell, Leah Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri on Percy Jackson and the Olympians | Interview

by W. Andrew Powell

Percy Jackson and the Olympians premieres on Disney+ December 20, and fans are going to love how the series captures the magic and adventure of the novels.

Created for TV by author Rick Riordan, with writer and producer Jonathan E. Steinberg, the series stars Walker Scobell, Leah Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri as the iconic trio; Percy, Annabeth, and Grover.

I sat down with the three stars to talk about playing the characters, and their favourite moments, and one moment in our conversation stood out. While they admitted that the [spoiler alert] fight with Ares comes up in their interviews a lot, Jeffries had another favourite scene.

“I feel like the diner scene that we had with Ares, Aryan did great with his scene with ‘Edge’ [Adam Copeland],” Jeffries said. “He did really good and he’s super hilarious and it’s really funny.”

“Just, really the whole episode five, it was really good ’cause I feel like we all did a lot in there. That’s when we really showed the trio, if that makes sense. It really showed how much work we put into doing this, and it shows how hard we were fighting to find that Master Bolt.”
