Thanks to a new website from the Government of Canada, Canadian travellers have a new resource when they’re preparing to venture across the border or around the world, and it’s being called “Canada’s official ‘one-stop shop’ for international travel information.”

Road Tripper wrote about the new website,, which was announced today in Montreal by the Honourable Joe Oliver, Minister of Natural Resources.

“Our government is pleased to announce, a newly revamped tool to help Canadians travel smarter and safer,” said Minister Ablonczy. “For the first time ever, we have brought together in one place information from all government departments to help Canadians be informed before, during and after their travels.”

“ will help Canadians save time as they make their way through the airport security screening process on the way to the departure gate,” said Minister Oliver. “The new website offers key information, like what Canadians traveling abroad can pack in their carry-on and checked baggage. The improved accessibility of this information will help make security screening faster and easier, and allow Canadians to focus on the road ahead.”

Beyond the new website, the Canadian government also launched a new mobile app–for Apple, Android and Blackberry–called Travel Smart, and will assist travellers while they are outside the country and need access to information or related services.
