As the first luxury resort in Turks and Caicos, the Grace Bay Club has served as a premier relaxation destination for over fifteen years. In that time, the resort has continually expanded, launching The Villas at Grace Bay, The Hotel, and now The Estate: twenty-two ultra-luxury residences and penthouses on the edge of the ocean.

As construction was wrapping up on the project, I had the opportunity to visit The Estate and take a tour of what the Grace Bay Club was planning for this incredibly extravagant project, which will be one of the most stunning properties in Turks and Caicos once it is completed (The Estate was set to open in December).

Walking around one of the four-bedroom residences, the first thing that stands out is the scale of the property. Where some hotels and vacation condos feel constricting, even when they stretch over hundreds of square feet, The Estate has a wide-open approach to every room. The high ceilings, coupled with the stunning view of the beach, and the numerous windows, make the residence feel very inviting.

With 4500 square feet of space though, there is no trick to The Estate’s design. While the high ceilings open up the space nicely, the huge floor plans give you as much room to enjoy as you could possibly need on that perfect beach-side vacation.

In the residence that I toured, that space includes a living and dining room with a huge terrace, two bedrooms overlooking the beach, two garden view bedrooms, and a total of four bathrooms.

Complimenting the space is a stunning collection of furniture and appliances, not to mention a rain shower on the terrace overlooking the ocean.

While guests at The Estate will also have access to amenities offered to the rest of the Grace Bay Club, Estate guests have a completely separate area that includes a beach area with lap pool, children’s area, Jacuzzi, pool-side bar and restaurant, and all of the usual beach-side amenities like kayaks and beach beds.

Specifics for each residence type differs, but aside from the junior residences, all of the residences come equipped with full kitchens, between three and four and a half bathrooms, plus a den that can be used as a media room.

The Estate is also fully equipped with wireless Internet, soaking tubs, LCD televisions, and did I mention that The Estate’s interior design was handled by RTKL, the firm who also designed the Mandarin Oriental and Four Seasons?

Most of all though, what made The Estate inviting to me was in fact the property’s already ambitious, and exciting array of highlights and services.

Take, for example, the food offered by Anacaona restaurant, which has what I consider one of the five best menus in Turks and Caicos.

Or, for stylish drinks, there are few experiences as memorable as sipping cocktails by the Infiniti Bar as the sun sets. At 90 feet long, the Infiniti Bar seems to stretch off into the ocean, and the bar’s lounge is absolutely beautiful at night as the lights come on.

Another highlight for me was reflexology massages by Anani Spa, who will come to your suite or residence to give you a massage on your terrace as you listen to the surf below. It is an unmissable experience that will add a little extra “amazing” to your trip.

The list of amenities goes on, and on, and the Grace Bay Club offers numerous extras for all kinds of interests. I was also extremely taken with the staff at the property who genuinely care about your experience, and are ready to make sure your stay is the best possible.

Prices for The Estate vary according to season, with Junior Residences going for $800 per night on the low end, and $1,500 per night at their peak. Meanwhile, three- and four-bedroom residences are between $2,800 and $5,800 per night.

For the ultimate experience, however, The Estate’s penthouse residences are between $5,500 and $11,500 per night.
