Young people are the future, and one dedicated teen stepped up and had the chance to speak for her generation on a very big stage.
Keyana Warner of Nevis won the 2024 Regional Tourism Youth Congress, put on by the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), by presenting her ideas on the future of Caribbean tourism. Along with the title of Junior Minister of Tourism, Warner took part in workshops, training, and time with industry professionals.
This week, at the CTO’s 2025 State of the Industry Conference in Barbados, Warner stepped on stage to deliver a speech about the future of tourism in the Caribbean. She gave a commendable speech that perfectly captured the spirit of pride in the region, and her hope for the future.
“For us, reimagining tourism means building a sector that is resilient, innovative, sustainable, and inclusive,” Warner said. “One that empowers communities, safeguards our environment, and embraces technology to strengthen global competitiveness. We envision a future where research guides policies and ensures evidence-based decisions.”
“We seek relevance that keeps the Caribbean at the forefront of global tourism grounded in authenticity and cultural pride. And as we view the road ahead as an opportunity for collaboration and renewal, ensuring that tourism remains a driver of prosperity for generations to come.”
