Opening in theatres this weekend: Matt Dillon stars in the heist-thriller, Takers; a preacher has a test of faith as he faces the first real possession of his life in The Last Exorcism; and James Cameron’s epic 3D adventure Avatar returns to theatres.

New this week on DVD and Blu-ray: Jennifer Lopez stars in the romantic comedy, The Back-Up Plan; the sixth and final season of Lost brings the epic series to a big, heartfelt finale; and a look at the third season of the sci-fi series Lexx, starring Brian Downey, Michael McManus, Xenia Seeberg, and Nigel Bennett.

Opening this weekend in theatres: Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman star in the romantic comedy, The Switch; a swarm of hungry prehistoric critters dominate the horror-comedy, Piranha 3D; Omid Djalili plays a Muslim man who discovers he might actually be Jewish in The Infidel; plus a look at the children’s comedy, Nanny McPhee Returns.

This week on DVD and Blu-ray: Paul Gross stars as a gun-slinging American in the Canadian western, Gunless; a medicore band makes it big with a little help from their vampiric bassist in Suck; plus a look at The Last Song, starring Miley Cyrus.

There’s a movie for just about everyone debuting this week in theatres. Julia Roberts stars in the romantic travel drama, Eat Pray Love; Sylvester Stallone and a cast of action heroes fight it out in The Expendables; and Michael Cera plays a would-be teenage hero in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

We head to the suburbs this week for a look at three new arrivals on DVD and Blu-ray, including: David Duchovny and Demi Moore play the perfect fake couple in the dramedy The Joneses; Tina Fey and Steve Carell end up with big thrills as they try to enjoy their Date Night; and a look at the short-lived 80s TV series, Max Headroom.

This week, opening at a theatre near you: Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg play mismatched partners in the action-comedy, The Other Guys; the dancers are back again in Step Up 3, which also debuts in 3D; and opening in select theatres, Robert Duvall stars in Get Low as a hermit who wants to attend his own funeral.

New this week on DVD and Blu-ray: Aaron Johnson stars as the self-styled superhero, Kick-Ass; infamous director Roman Polanski debuts his stylish thriller, The Ghost Writer; plus a look at the tween-friendly Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

Opening this weekend: Steve Carell and Paul Rudd star in the comedy Dinner For Schmucks; the pets are back on another mission in Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore; and Zac Efron tries to play a serious role in the teen drama, Charlie St. Cloud.

New this week on store shelves: Sam Worthington stars as the demi-god Perseus in the action-adventure, Clash of the Titans; plus a look at Repo Men, starring Jude Law and Liev Schreiber.
