2025 Ford Expedition Tremor

The 2025 Ford Expedition Tremor was made for road trips. After a week with the seriously impressive SUV, I was impressed with the versatility, how comfortable it was to drive, and how much power it delivers.

There are a lot of bells and whistles to talk about, but the latest Expedition is easy to recommend because it just works. For the summer drives across the country, towing the camper to the park, or bringing your kayak to the lake, the Expedition Tremor handles everything, with a premium interior.

Over my driving days, I took the SUV on the highway, through country roads, across a little bit of rough dirt roads, and tried every feature. Here’s what the experience was like, and what stood out.

Road-trip ready comfort

Seats inside the Ford Expedition Tremor

The Expedition has a sleek and modern interior, with lots of space, and some special touches. Every seat is durable but very comfortable, and there’s so much space for the family. Long drives feel so much easier with a little bit more space.

The SUV features three rows, seating up to eight people, or you can fold down all or part of the third row for extra storage, giving you room to store a lot for any trip.

In the front, I really appreciated the Flex Powered Console, with extra storage that locks valuables away when the SUV is off.

And no matter where you sit the huge Vista Roof makes the space feel big and bright, starting above the driver and reaching to the third row.

Speaking of design, I also appreciate the Ford Split Gate, that has two halves you can open, and use as a seat, or you can close the bottom half of the gate to accommodate large loads, like a kayak. It’s incredibly easy to use, and makes the SUV versatile enough for a wide range of cargo.

Technology that goes beyond the ordinary

The whole SUV is impressive, and works incredibly well for all kinds of families, but the technology is where I think the Expedition Tremor really shines.

For the driver, I loved the panoramic 24″ display above the wheel, right under the window so you never have to look down at the dash, and the steering wheel has a flat top so it doesn’t block the display. You can also customize the screen, so in addition to the speedometer, you can also display more information on either towing, mileage, weather, fuel economy, tire pressure, and more.

The built-in Android Automotive operating system also means that you can connect your phone for any apps you want to use from your device, but the SUV also offers a lot of apps built into the 13.2″ infotainment touchscreen display.

While it does require a service plan from Ford, it offers a lot of features. When you map to a destination, the map automatically shows up on the driver display, and you can also listen to Spotify, built into the vehicle, or any of the other compatible apps.

When you’re parked, the infotainment system also offers entertainment apps like YouTube, streaming music, and gaming, and the vehicle Wi-fi works for up to 10 devices within 15-metres of the SUV. That will definitely keep everyone happier on long trips.

Making the best of long drives with BlueCruise

The highlight for driving is Ford Co-Pilot360 and BlueCruise, that both made every drive a lot calmer.

Ford Co-Pilot360 includes Lane-Keeping, Hill Descent Control, Blind Spot notifications, and one of my favourites, the camera display that shows on the console when you signal to turn, giving you a direct view of anything in your blind spots.

Ford’s Adaptive Cruise Control works well for any drive, and it’s pretty familiar across their lineup of vehicles, but BlueCruise is special. For an additional annual fee, Ford’s BlueCruise offers hands-free driving for divided highways in Canada, or what they call “Blue Zones” that have been mapped out for the service.

When activated, the SUV maintains a set speed, and the lane, following the curves of the road, and slowing down to follow traffic in front of you. It’s the latest edition of assisted driving that means you just watch the road while the Expedition handles the traffic.

The impressive features really takes the stress out of longer drives and commutes. You still have to pay attention, but for long trips especially, it feels so much easier.

An SUV with power to spare for on and off the road

The 2025 Ford Expedition Tremor is responsive, incredibly comfortable on the road, and it offers a lot of power. The Tremor features a 3.5L High-Output EcoBoost V6 440 horsepower engine with 510 lb.-ft. of torque, re-tuned suspension, and Electric Power-Assisted steering.

In the Expedition Active, Tremor, Platinum, and King Ranch models, the vehicles offer a 10-speed automatic transmission for all kinds of terrain and conditions, including towing up to 9,600 pounds for boats or trailers.

And the Expedition Tremor is a gorgeous model, from the trim to the features, like Rock Crawl drive mode, Trail Turn Assist, and a modified ride suspension for better clearance off-road.

The SUV features impressive 33″ General Grabber all-terrain tires, with 10.6″ ground clearance, so you really can take it off the road for an adventure.

Final thoughts

The 2025 Ford Expedition Tremor impressed me with every feature, and the SUV doesn’t force you to choose between family comfort and real capability. It’s roomy, powerful, and packed with tech features you’ll use, and that make long drives easier and more enjoyable.

If your road trips mix highway miles with outdoor detours, the Tremor can handle just about anything that you find along the way. My road trips are usually a few thousands kilometres, over a couple of weeks, and I could see the Expedition being a perfect fit for that kind of vacation.

I’ve never been more comfortable than behind the wheel of this SUV, and everyone I took out for a drive was impressed with the space, while I was blown away by the controls, and that big panoramic 24″ display.

The 2025 Ford Expedition starts at $84,815 Canadian, and the Expedition Tremor starts at $107,165 Canadian.
