This Halloween, while you’re snacking on treats, I have a great activity idea for the Hocus Pocus fans. Thanks to a clever fan, Lego has a fun, spooky-themed project with Disney Hocus Pocus: The Sanderson Sisters’ Cottage set.
Featuring 2,316 pieces, the Sanderson Sisters’ Cottage is a total treat to put together, starting with the graveyard, and going from the ground up to recreate the iconic building. And, of course, it comes with Lego Minifigures of Winifred, Mary, Sarah, Max, Dani, Allison, and even Thackery as the cat.
The 1993 Disney movie has been a fan favourite, and my family and I always watch it before Halloween. Bette Midler and the rest of the amazing cast–especially Doug Jones, if I’m being honest–makes this such a fun movie, and the Lego set brings so much of the story to life.
There’s the book and the black flame candle, the cauldron with a light-up fire, little details like Allison’s container of salt, Mary’s vacuum cleaner, Winifred’s green magic, and inside the cottage you’ll find skeletons hanging out. (Perhaps that’s what happened to the two bullies.) Plus there are movable parts like the water wheel, which powers the “smoke” coming out of the chimney, and you can move the roof to look inside the cottage.
