TIFF Report – Day 6: Still going

by W. Andrew Powell

At this point in the festival, it begins to feel a bit like the best is behind you, and all that’s really left is to ride out the next couple of days, and make the best of the dwindling time. I realize I didn’t post anything yesterday, but it was more from inactivity than being too busy for a change.

I did manage to finally see a film again – the animated Renaissance, which wasn’t as satisying as I’d hoped, but had some really eye-popping visuals. After that I had an amazing interview with director Andrew Currie for his film Fido

And now today I’ve got an interview with Camelia Frieberg – writer/director/producer of A Stone’s Throw, followed by an interview with the film’s lead guy, Kris Holden-Ried (and a much-anticipated interview Thursday with his co-star, the stunning Lisa Ray).

The good news for me is starting tonight, and then mainly tomorrow, I’m devoting my time more to seeing films than anything else. If all goes to plan I’ll see Dixie Chicks: Shut Up And Sing tonight at the gala event, This Filthy World and The Fountain tomorrow, and then four as yet chosen films Thursday (although I’m aiming myself at Amazing Grace and Spike Lee‘s When The Levees Broke).

More pictures will be on the way though from a few events, including a couple of red carpets and probably one or two more press conferences.
