First look at Meryl Streep as the Witch in ‘Into the Woods’

Is there anything that Meryl Streep can’t do? The multiple Academy Award-winning actress has starred in a diverse range of films over her long and impressive career, and now Disney has released the first image of Streep as the Witch in their upcoming 2014 film, Into The Woods, a “humorous and heartfelt musical” based on the works of the Brothers Grim fairy tales where she plays a scary looking witch trying to remove a curse that ruined her beauty.

Disney has said that Into The Woods takes a look at what happens after the events of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk and Rapunzel, mixed into a new story “involving a baker and his wife, and the witch who cast a spell on them.”

Into The Woods will open in theatres on December 25, 2014.
