Brenton Thwaites has made an incredible career for himself already, and he hasn’t turned 30 yet. After starring in The Giver, Maleficent, and Son of A Gun over the last few years, he’s already worked with Jeff Bridges, Meryl Streep, Ewan MacGregor, Alicia Vikander, Angelina Jolie, and Gerard Butler.
Ron Clements and John Musker have worked together over a span of more than 30 years, starting off co-directing The Great Mouse Detective, which debuted in 1986, before moving on to create two of Disney’s biggest films: The Little Mermaid, and Aladdin. From that work, they went on to create Hercules, Treasure Planet, the very charming The Princess and the Frog, and most recently, the Oscar-nominated Moana.
Beauty and the Beast opens in theatres on March 17, but well ahead of the premiere, Walt Disney has created a special sneak peek of the film at Casa Loma in Toronto, and it’s open all Family Day long weekend for fans to get in the spirit of the new live action film.

AutoShow with Lincoln & Ford, ‘Moana’ director interview, and ‘Orphan Black’ set visit
This week’s excitement started with the media preview for the Canadian International AutoShow at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. The AutoShow opened for the public yesterday, and it’s bound to be another big year for the event–there’s a lot to see and do: classic cars, concepts, prototypes, and new vehicles that are either coming out, or making their way to market late this year.
Bryce Dallas Howard is telling a story to the publicity team when I arrive for our interview. She’s smiling and animated, and she seems thrilled to talk about Disney’s Pete’s Dragon where she plays forest ranger Grace Meacham.
Last Monday week I was handed the keys to a 2016 Ford Focus Titanium for a week of test driving, which came in handy last week for a long-weekend getaway in Muskoka. On Friday we left town early and headed up to the Sherwood Inn Hotel, and we luckily had perfect weather.
You’d better hurry, or you’ll be late, for a very important date. The Alice on Queen pop-up event has arrived in Toronto for one week, and celebrates the May 27th release of Alice Through The Looking Glass with the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party table brought to life courtesy of YouTube’s How To Cake It star Yolanda Gampp and her team.
