Aire Ancient Baths Toronto, a luxury thermal oasis in the city

Address: 510A Front Street West, Portland Commons

Toronto’s newest spa experience is one of the best in the city, with a lux thermal bath journey that is unmatched for wellness and relaxation.

Aire Ancient Baths Toronto on Front Street West is a candlelit haven with nine thermal baths, and the atmosphere and the attention to details makes for an unforgettable escape.

The Spanish brand has locations around the world, including London, Copenhagen, Barcelona, Seville, and New York City. The idyllic space took two years to prepare, restoring the Edwardian building with exposed brick, and imported pottery, and it’s unique in Toronto.

Guests can enjoy the series of hot and cold baths, before a massage that feels like the perfect final touch. The space is earthy and warm, and there are so many details that I love that make it feel like you’ve stepped inside an ancient Roman bathhouse.

Soaking in the Tepidarium is the perfect place to start, and then I moved to the Flotarium, a salt pool where you can float as the spa’s tranquil music plays through the water, right into your ears. This experience alone is absolutely mesmerizing, floating and letting the sounds and the water carry you effortlessly.

Next, I slowly swam through the Palestra outdoor bath, cozy in the warm waters, before relaxing in a massaging jet pool, the Balneum. For the ultimate circulation and wellbeing boost you can then switch between the Caldarium and Frigidarium baths, the hottest and coldest pools in the spa, or step into the dry sauna, or the steam room.

After all that, and spending what felt like a wonderful eternity soaking and floating, the team invited me to my spa treatment, and an incredible massage.

Aire offers the option to book only the thermal baths, for a simple escape, or you can book a spa experience with both a massage and access to the baths.

A 45-minute massage with time in the baths is $295, while 90 minutes in the baths is $205, with the latter including a Citrus Garden scrub, hydrating eye patches, and a wellness juice shot.

For a limited time, and perfect for Mother’s Day gifting, Aire is offering a Hydrating Honey Ritual throughout Spring for $275, including time in the thermal baths, a 30-minute body massage with jojoba oil, and a honey hair mask.

The experience is outstanding, giving mom, or that special someone, time to soak in the baths and disconnect for 90 minutes, then finishing with a massage, and the refreshing oil and hair mask. It’s the perfect way to either gift mom special time on her own, or take mom so you can reconnect together in a peaceful space.

Aire touts all the benefits of the hair mask–from the way it nourishes hair, hydrates, and acts as an antioxidant–but I would add that the treatment is also wonderfully special for the whole experience, complete with a restorative scalp massage.

And don’t forget about dad, either. Whether it’s for a birthday, anniversary, or Father’s Day, I promise that he’ll love the whole journey through this stunning space, the massage, and being pampered.

For couples, there are a number of treatments for two, including a 60 minute massage for $680 per couple.

If you’re looking for the ultimate couples experience though, Aire offers the Signature Wine Experience, including a private wine bath, body massage, a cranial massage with hair mask, access to the thermal baths. The luxurious three hour experience is $1,560 per couple and includes a wine and cheese tasting, too.

Thanks to Aire Ancient Baths for the incredible experience. Watch my video below for a peek at the space, and what they offer.
