The fate of the timeline and the world hang in the balance in 12 Monkeys. The show began in 2043 with scavenger Cole (Aaron Stanford) splintering back to the year 2015 in order to prevent the Army of the 12 Monkeys from unleashing a virus that would wipe out mankind. Along the way, virologist Cassie Railly (Amanda Schull) and enigmatic math genius Jennifer Goines (Emily Hampshire) joined the cause and have proven integral in thwarting their enemies.
The Emerson Hotel has a spacious lobby, some charming rooms, and if you know the right route to take, a time machine connected through a few back hallways. Sound intriguing? Well, it is, but it’s not a funky themed hotel in Toronto, it just happens to be the impressive set of 12 Monkeys, and late last year I took a little staycation there for the afternoon, with a quick visit to the all-important Suite 607.
Amanda Schull stars in the television adaptation of 12 Monkeys, a series that reimagines the world of the original 1995 film by director Terry Gilliam, but with a fresh concept that offers new twists and turns along the way.
