When The GATE started out, the biggest film of the year was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, and the iPod had just launched. To put it mildly, it was a very different time…
Emm Gryner
Arriving this week on DVD and Blu-ray, Joshua Jackson stars as a wayward soul in the drama, One Week. Also out, Jason Voorhees returns to the screen in a glossy remake of Friday the 13th, the first season of the animated Transformers series lands on DVD, plus, Ghostbusters and Dr. Strangelove both come out on Blu-ray.
Today was a good day to be an Emm Gryner fan. This morning I received a press release announcing that Emm will be playing the Glenn Gould Studio on Saturday, February 7. And then on top of that, Emm mailed me a sample copy of her new CD, Goddess, which also comes out in February.
Whether you want to call her a talented performer, a rampant touring goddess, a record label executive, or just a cool Canadian songwriter, Emm Gryner is one of the most respectable artists on the Canadian music scene.
Hailing from Forest, Ontario, Emm Gryner has launched her third album, Science Fair, and is already receiving critical acclaim for her best work yet. Some people may have wondered what would happen after she lost her record deal to the Universal take-over of Mercury Records, but they needn’t have worried. She’s going to do it herself.
