Overblown and cranked to eleven at all times, the ludicrous home invasion thriller The Intruder isn’t a great movie, but it’s a great time at the movies.

As fall seasons go, 2013 has not been all that impressive, especially when it comes to dramas. Aside from Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which has been a slow burn, and Sleepy Hollow, most of the new shows have been dull, dreary, or just plain dumb, but Almost Human is finally a new show that begs to be watched.
New DVD and Blu-ray arriving this week on store shelves include: Buried, starring Ryan Reynolds as a man trying to survive being buried alive; the prequel Death Race 2, starring Luke Goss and Tanit Phoenix; plus a look at Takers, Sugar Sammy Live in Concert, and season one of Dan for Mayor.
Opening in theatres this weekend: Matt Dillon stars in the heist-thriller, Takers; a preacher has a test of faith as he faces the first real possession of his life in The Last Exorcism; and James Cameron’s epic 3D adventure Avatar returns to theatres.
