Let’s look back, little monsters, on the night that was the 2011 MuchMusic Video Awards. This is what I’d call a capsule review of my evening, and it was filled with Lady Gaga, a little Selena Gomez, and a hint of self-loathing.
Simple Plan
Okay, it’s the final run for this year’s Junos and I’m running out of steam. This show is dragging me down, down, down.
While I fight with my urges to change the channel, Simple Plan perform “Your Love Is A Lie”, which is actually what I might call the dullest performance of the night. That kind of shocks me a little, considering these guys are pretty cool, and they usually rile up the crowds. Not so much tonight, but then again, they were kind of shoe-horned into this non-moment in the show.
Simple Plan are back with their self-titled third album, featuring the hits “When I’m Gone” and “Your Love is a Lie.” The album is available now, and we’re giving away a complete Simple Plan CD library, including all four albums. Plus, the copy of the new self-titled release is signed by the band! Three runners-up will each win a copy of the new album.
Warner sent me over the link to Simple Plan’s new video: “When I’m Gone”, so I thought I’d pass it along. You’ll be able to check out their new self-titled…
The MuchMusic Video Awards took over MuchMusic at the corner of Queen and John in Toronto for one of the biggest parties of the year featuring Finger Eleven, Evanescence, Kanye West, Simple Plan, and many others.
People talk about the power of the press. I’m not so convinced. I can say on Sunday June 20th, I experienced first hand not so much the power of the press but the power of the press pass. There is a world of difference I have learned between a blue wristband and a gold wristband.
