Chicago is preparing for a big weekend of racing and music this summer as NASCAR arrives in the city with the inaugural Chicago Street Race on the Fourth of July weekend.

Event highlights include performances by The Chainsmokers, Miranda Lambert, The Black Crowes, and Charley Crockett on the Lakefront Green, with the NASCAR street race track stretched around the iconic downtown streets of the Chicago Loop.

“Architecture defines Chicago, and NASCAR chose Chicago because of our incredible skyline and those vistas,” Lynn Osmond, the President and CEO of Choose Chicago said. “And just think of this 2.2 mile track, with 12 turns–which is really important–that’s going to go right along the lakefront by the Art Institute of Chicago, around Buckingham Fountain.”

“So it’s a great way to combine my two loves. We’re going to have this incredible, interesting race on July 1st and 2nd, and it’s going to go past our fabulous architecture, so it’s a win-win on every front.”

Tickets for the event are available now, and two-day general admission tickets start at $269. Two-day reserved tickets that include reserved seating and premium experiences start at $465, with access to the President’s Paddock Club, food, and more.

The concerts will be timed between races, so fans can watch a race, and then take in one of the performances. And best of all, “If you have a ticket to NASCAR, you have a ticket to the concert,” Osmond said.

“The Chicago Street Race is truly a first-of-its-kind two-day sports and entertainment event in the 75-year history of NASCAR,” said Chicago Street Race President Julie Giese. “We are proud to welcome [the music] superstars… as we reimagine the NASCAR experience in the heart of downtown Chicago over Fourth of July weekend.”

The schedule starts on July 1 with the Chicago Street Race featuring Xfinity Series and Cup Series practice, and qualifying, followed by The Black Crowes concert. Afer the Xfinity Series race, The Chainsmokers will take the stage to finish the first day of events.

On Sunday, July 2, Charley Crockett will kick off the day, with Miranda Lambert headlining a full-length concert before the first-ever Cup Series street race.
