TIFF 08: Day 5 and the chocolate vanishes

by W. Andrew Powell

Call the press a bit pampered at TIFF, but I’m feeling severely deprived of my daily chocolate fix since the bowl full of Lindt truffles emptied today and hasn’t been refilled. It’s a terrible discovery as I sit down to work, but I suppose into every life a little rain must fall.

Today provided a new highlight for the festival when I interviewed French film director Gille Bourdos and actor Romain Duris for the film Afterwards. Really interesting guys, and Gille is totally enthralling.

Next I’m off to the screenings for $5 A Day starring Christopher Walken, followed by one or two more films this evening, including Afterwards, and then I have to decide if I’m shooting any red carpets tonight (I haven’t even seen the call sheet yet).

That actually means that the big portion of my updates, including the Sam Neill interview, won’t be online until this evening, so bear with me. I have galleries to post as well for the press conference for Passchendaele, the Rachel Getting Married red carpet with Anne Hathaway, and Kevin Smith and some of his cast members for Zack and Miri Make a Porno.

For now though, here’s a shot of Kevin from last night’s red carpet.
