Featured Artist for April 8, 2010

BIOGRAPHY:

With a sweet and playful acoustic-pop sound, Laurell‘s (www.laurell.ca) music is captivating, honest and rhythmic. As an artist, she embodies an insightful, poetic and organic energy. With three albums to her name, hundreds of U.S. and Canadian tour dates under her belt, a cluttered shelf of accolades and a growing grassroots following, singer/songwriter Laurell is embracing the momentum of her music career.

The CHUM Radio’s Emerging Artist has been quickly rising up the Canadian radio charts, and her hit single “Can’t Stop Falling” recently entered the Top 20 on HOT AC and has been added into regular rotation on radio stations across the country.

This year will prove to be one of the busiest yet for the talented songstress. She recently performed to a packed house at Canadian Music Week, wowing the crowd with her live performance at The Fairmont Royal York’s Library Bar.

Laurell will also played a coveted spot in Barrie during their Earth Hour Music Festival. The second annual festival, which saw over 5000 people in 2009, was a free concert event showcasing some of the best names in music to spread awareness of global climate change initiatives.
