Disney’s Jungle Cruise is instantly familiar, and that’s not just because it’s based on the Disneyland ride that’s been around for more than 60 years.

A joyous and somewhat purposefully frivolous reworking and ever-so-slight updating of a Disney classic, Mary Poppins Returns will reignite warm feelings in the hearts of those who adored and sung along with its iconic (but equally overlong and wonky) 1964 predecessor.

Actor and director John Krasinski’s incredible thriller A Quiet Place arrived on Blu-ray today, and we’re giving away two special prize packs including the film, and a blanket.

Shockingly dull, inexcusably drab, and listlessly paced, The Girl on the Train feels about as exciting as being locked in a room with someone explaining what they just read to you for almost two hours instead of acting it out in any sort of cinematic fashion.

Rian Johnson just became one of my favourite directors, and all it took was one film. Johnson’s two previous films certainly impressed me, but Looper is a step forward for the writer and director. It’s a film that draws you in with the characters on an intimate level as hell starts to break loose, and despite the topic, it’s also a film that takes the story to heart.

The first day of the festival was a great start to what I hope will be an epic year at TIFF. Although I missed the screening of Tabu, a film I have been dying to see since I first saw the trailer for it, the interview with Emily Blunt for Looper was incredible.

The first day of the TIFF is upon us, and frankly, I’m already tired. For the last week, I’ve already been screening films, interviewing, and trying to keep up with emails planning out what I’ll be doing for the next eleven days.
