    Xbox showcases upcoming fall titles at X16

    Microsoft took the press and public alike through the opportunity to go hands-on last week with their fall Xbox One lineup at the X16 Media Showcase event in Toronto. They had a full complement of first- and third-party titles set for release between now and December, with a handful of already available games to try out. I was able to play a number of the games on display, read on for my impressions.

    Microsoft and Epic Games launched the Gears of War 3 beta for the media on Friday, and for anyone who picked up a copy of Bulletstorm Epic Edition today, and it’s worth saying that the game is seriously addictive.

    The game has only been on sale for a couple of hours, and it is already bound to be one of the biggest games of the season, if not the entire year.

    Following one of the best-reviewed, and best-selling games for the Xbox 360, Microsoft’s Epic Games studio released Gears of War 2 at midnight today.

    The Hollywood Reporter has revealed some grim truth to video game fans today: there is going to be a movie based on the hit Xbox 360 game, Gears of War and friends, I’m betting it’s going to blow Locust chunks all over the place. And not in a good way.

    This has been a very busy week for Microsoft and their Xbox 360. So busy in fact that I couldn’t keep up with all the news, so in an effort to tackle it all at once, I decided to summarize what’s been going on. To put it simply, the Halo 3 multiplayer beta arrives on May 16, Gears of War has a new multiplayer mode, and you’ll soon be able to chat with your Windows Live Messenger friends from the Xbox 360.
