Looking forward to the 2012 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on December 4? We’ve got highlights from the upcoming show, which features the Victoria’s Secret Angels and what they call “a bevy of other Supermodels” walking the runway with this year’s circus theme and stars Rihanna, Justin Bieber, and Bruno Mars.

Lazy Friday News is a weekly round-up of stories from across the spectrum of entertainment, or whatever happens to tickle my funny bone. This week: the force is strong in the new James Bond film, Skyfall; Star Wars is being shaken and stirred back into a viable franchise; Star Trek fans can get a glimpse of nine minutes of spacey bliss; Channing Tatum is attractive, or something; we bid goodbye to the voice of Smurfette; plus Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are never ever getting back together?
The fans were screaming for each and every star Sunday, June 17, as the MuchMusic Video Awards welcomed LMFAO, Katy Perry, Carly Rae Jepsen, Kelly Clarkson, Marianas Trench, Justin Bieber, and lots of other celebrities to the MuchMusic HQ at the corner of Queen and John.
Queen Street West in Toronto was loud and crowded last night thanks to the thousands of fans who showed up at MuchMusic’s headquarters for the 2012 MuchMusic Video Awards, where pop stars LMFAO co-hosted the big night.
Let’s look back, little monsters, on the night that was the 2011 MuchMusic Video Awards. This is what I’d call a capsule review of my evening, and it was filled with Lady Gaga, a little Selena Gomez, and a hint of self-loathing.
New releases on Blu-ray and DVD this week include: director Ivan Reitman’s romantic comedy, No Strings Attached, starring Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher; the intense drama, Blue Valentine, featuring Michelle Williams’ Oscar-nominated performance opposite Ryan Gosling; plus a look at Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, and the 25th anniversary release of Legend on Blu-ray.
Welcome to my 12th annual Juno Awards coverage. That’s right, I’ve been covering the Junos since 2000 when they were last in Toronto, but I’ve only been to the awards five times, including tonight. The special oddity of the night though is that this is the first year I’ve actually watched the show live. This should be interesting.
Opening this weekend in theatres across the country: Channing Tatum and Jamie Bell star in the epic adventure, The Eagle; Adam Sandler tries to woo a younger woman in the comedy, Just Go With It; William Shakespeare’s classic tragedy gets a comic take in the animated Gnomeo And Juliet; plus a look at the music documentary, Justin Bieber: Never Say Never.
On Tuesday, February 1, Canadaian musicians were in the spotlight once again as the list of nominees were revealed for the 2011 Juno Awards, which will celebrate their 40th anniversary by bringing the festivities back to Toronto for the first time in eleven years.
Lazy Sunday News is back for 2011 and this week I look at the possible Ghostbusters 3 and Hellboy 3 sequels, those oh-so-lame People’s Choice Awards, a possible Wonder Woman television series that may be coming soon, and a look ahead at Justin Bieber and Glee.
