When 2021 started, I had a lot of hope for the year. It ended up being a tough year in some ways, but it also turned out to be one of the best years for me and for The GATE. And on top of everything else, I’m celebrating The GATE’s 20th anniversary.

The 46th annual Toronto International Film Festival is in the books, and it was a great year to discover incredible new films from a wide range of filmmakers and talent. Here are a few of my favourites, with reviews for Dune, Night Raiders, Wildhood, Kicking Blood, Attica, Mothering Sunday, and Petite Maman.
TIFF 2021 starts tomorrow, and I’ve been reflecting on all the years that I’ve been covering Canada’s best festival, and one of the most interesting public festivals in the world.
The Toronto International Film Festival is only a few days away, and while this year’s festival will still look a bit different, TIFF is getting ready to welcome guests, talent, stars, and filmmakers from around the world.
The Toronto International Film Festival announced ticket prices and key dates for TIFF 2021, including in-person screenings, drive-in screenings, and digital. Prices start at just $12 for TIFF Bell Digital Talks, $25 for film screenings, and $49 for the Visa Skyline Drive-In and RBC Lakeside Drive-In at Ontario Place.

TIFF 2021 welcomes audiences in September with Dune, 100+ films, and cross-Canada screenings

Perhaps the biggest detail, however, was that in-person screenings and red carpets are also set for a comeback, and TIFF will also screen films across Canada.
