Giveaway: ‘Willow’ 25th anniversary edition on Blu-ray

This year marks the 25th anniversary of Ron Howard’s classic film Willow, and for the film’s debut on Blu-ray this week, The GATE, with thanks to Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, is giving away two copies of the Blu-ray package.

Restored for its Blu-ray release, Willow was written and produced by George Lucas, and the Blu-ray and DVD combo pack offers extras like deleted scenes, a look at special effects, and more.

Synopsis: When young Willow Ufgood (Warwick Davis; Harry Potter franchise) finds an abandoned baby girl, he learns she is destined to end the reign of the wicked Queen Bavmorda (Jean Marsh; “Upstairs, Downstairs”). In order to protect the child, Willow must team up with a rogue swordsman (Val Kilmer; Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang) and overcome the forces of darkness in the ultimate battle of good versus evil!

The Prize: One of two copies of Willow on Blu-ray combo pack, which includes a dazzling array of extras with never-before-seen exclusive content such as deleted scenes with remarks from Ron Howard, a personal video diary of Warwick Davis, matte paintings and much more. In addition, look out for Ron Howard’s new introduction for the original 1988 featurette “The Making of an Adventure,” as well as special effect legend Dennis Muren’s new intro to his piece, “From Morf to Morphing: The Dawn of Digital Filmmaking.”

Giveaway Details: The GATE’s Willow giveaway is open to residents of Canada, where local laws permit, who are over the age of 18. Contest closes on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at 11:59 AM (ET). Chance of winning depends on total number of entries.
