Figures (137 Avenue Road) is officially one of my favorite new restaurants in Toronto, and it’s about more than just the food, the style, or the very fun comic book theme. Figures is a great restaurant because they do all of those things so well, and they do it all with heart, and excellent attention to every detail.
Yorkville
During the average week I’m around downtown Toronto a lot for lunch, so I end up eating out more often than not. Since I’m trying not to spend a fortune on food, I also like to find little hideaway restaurants that don’t charge a lot, and for the first time I wanted to mention one here: Xtreme Taste at 6 Cumberland Avenue.
It’s Toronto‘s turn. Sure, there’s been a hotel or two opening here or there over the past few years in Ontario‘s (and Canada’s) Big Apple. But the openings slated over the next two years promise more luxe and excitement than we’re used to. The city that has a reputation for good times, great theatre and gorgeous skylines is upping its hotel offerings with a mix of five-star and boutique properties bound to make everyone’s New Year wish list.
