Parks Canada wants to help you ‘Learn to Camp’

by W. Andrew Powell

Yep, there’s an app for that. Parks Canada has just the thing for all of the Canadians who want to get out and explore the great outdoors, and some of the country’s beautiful national parks after they launched a Learn to Camp app and workshop program that will help newcomers and experts alike.

The Learn to Camp initiative was launched on the May long weekend, and includes tips, information, and planning guides for anyone who needs a little help before they head out, plus recipes and other details for more experienced campers.

As Road Tripper reported, “Need a helping hand? The Parks Canada website has you covered with all the basics broken out, from ‘What to Bring’ and the all-important ‘What to Wear’ to tips on where to camp, and making reservations for a camp site.”

In addition to the app though, would-be campers can also catch special workshops across Canada, which will help give people a more hands-on introduction to camping. Upcoming workshops will happen at parks across Canada, including Gulf Islands National Park Reserve, Lévis Forts National Historic Site, Prince Edward Island National Park, The Forks National Historic Site, Fundy National Park, and many more. You can find more details on the workshops, and the schedule on the Learn to Camp page.
