Listen: UPSAHL’s “Wish You’d Make Me Cry”

by W. Andrew Powell

If you’re looking for a few sparks in your life, UPSAHL’s delicious new pop single, “Wish You’d Make Me Cry”, is perfect and catchy, with a twist.

“When I’m getting bored, I start some drama,” she sings, and the lyrical inspiration came from her own life, the singer explained.

“‘Wish You’d Make Me Cry’ is about being with someone who is so good to you that it almost seems fake,” she said. “When I wrote this song with Pete Nappi, I was caught up in that feeling, so I started just venting to him about it. At one point, I think I said something along the lines of ‘I just wish that he would make me cry’. We wrote the song within an hour after that.”

UPSAHLs last single, “Drugs” earned over two million streams, new fans, and praise from critics. Her previous hit singles include “Can You Hear Me Now”, “Kiss Me Now”, “Rough,” and “Drugs”, and currently she’s touring the U.S. with Tessa Violet until late September.
