Actor Varun Saranga is having the busiest summer of his professional life this year, and he’s relishing every moment of it. The Scarborough, Ontario native recently joined the ensemble cast of the SyFy and Space original series Wynonna Earp (airing on Fridays at 10pm) for the second season, and it was recently announced this past weekend that it would be returning for a third next year. But for the already veteran performer and emerging filmmaker, Wynonna Earp and his groundbreaking character on the show are only the start of the new whirlwind phase of his career.
Are you ready for the finale of Killjoys on Space this Friday, August 21? If not, how about a little interview with the show’s trio of stars to get you ready?
Today’s news that venerable Star Trek legend Leonard Nimoy had passed away has hit a lot of science fiction fans pretty hard–myself included. The man was more than just Spock–by what I knew of him he was also a wonderful human being, and he was incredibly talented.
Space has released a clip of our “favorite” “mayor” “Rob Ford” from his appearance in Sharknado 2: The Second One. No, that’s not the real Rob Ford, of course, but it’s still worth a chuckle.
Press kits come and go on my desk–a few less than their used to be, before some companies started sending them electronically–and once in a while I get a real keeper; a collectible that I’m not likely to throw out or ignore. This week, the prize that arrived was the press kit for season two of Orphan Black, which airs on Space in Canada, and BBC America in the United States.
Monsters and creatures of the night come in all shapes and sizes, although not if you’re talking about werewolves. For a very long time, werewolves have been macho monsters, which is why it is more than a little refreshing to see a woman ripping into the throats of her enemies in the new Space channel series, Bitten.
Canadian “Whovians” can rejoice after Space announced this week that they will air BBC’s 50th Anniversary episode of Doctor Who on November 23. The special one-hour episode, dubbed “The Day of the Doctor”, will feature appearances by the outgoing Doctor, Matt Smith, his companion Clara (Jenna Coleman), in addition to the Tenth Doctor (David Tennant), Billie Piper as Rose, and a special appearance by John Hurt “as an ominous figure in the Doctor’s timeline,” the press release noted.
The season finale for Space and BBC America’s Orphan Black airs this Saturday, June 1 at 9:00 PM, and in it, Sarah (played by Tatiana Maslany) comes to a crossroads with her “former partner” Art (Kevin Hanchard), while she must also deal with the crazed Helena.
Space revealed the first images this week from the set of their new original series, Bitten, starring Laura Vandervoort, Greyston Holt, Greg Bryk, and Paul Greene.
