There have been a lot of amazing things in the years I’ve been running The GATE, and some of my favourite moments were covering TV series, especially ones shot here in Toronto.
Zoie Palmer
Lost Girl fans spoke up loud and clear once again this month to show how much they love the Canadian series. At the 2014 Canadian Screen Awards, at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto, actress Zoie Palmer was awarded the Academy’s Fan Choice Award for Favourite Canadian Screen Star, and Lost Girl also won for Favourite Canadian Show, all thanks to the show’s fans.
This is it! Lost Girl returns tonight on Showcase in Canada for its third season, and I’ve got the third and final part of The GATE’s on set interview with the cast ahead of the 8:00 PM (ET/PT) debut.
Lost Girl returns for its third season this Sunday, January 6, and during filming, The GATE was on set to interview the cast about what comes next for the supernatural drama.
Television’s favorite succubus and seductress returns–with all her Fae friends and enemies–on Sunday, January 6, as the hit Canadian series Lost Girl kicks off its third season on Showcase in Canada (with the show returning to SyFy in the U.S. on January 14).
This afternoon I had the good fortune of visiting the cast of Lost Girl for their last day of filming for season three (I’m the one on the far right, in case you’re wondering), and along with two other journalists, we had 30 minutes to interview the group. On top of that, we watched filming for one of the final scenes of the season, and toured the set which included a new space that we’re told has a particular role.
After fans had left the set of Lost Girl in Toronto on March 25, following filming of the special Lost Girl Pre-Show, a small group of media were treated to an interview with the cast of the show–plus executive producer Jay Firestone–to get more detail about the second season ahead of the finale.
Fanatical Fae fans in Toronto had a rare on-set experience last weekend as the stars of Showcase’s original series Lost Girl, including Anna Silk and Kris Holden-Ried, sat down for a Q&A with host and series writer Steve Cochrane.
Okay, as a fan of the series this is pretty brilliant.
I just got an email invitation to the Lost Girl Pre-Show that’s taping for the season finale of the series. Later this month they’re inviting fans and media down to watch the Lost Girl finale on the set, and the whole event will be hosted by series’ writer Steve Cochrane.
